Paytm FASTag: How to Apply, Activate, Check Balance and Recharge Online?
FASTag lanes were introduced in October 2017 by NHAI, after which the government, in December 2017, made it mandatory for all new vehicles sold to have FASTags in them. FASTag, indeed, provides innumerable benefits to the users too. Thus, it is both compulsory and beneficial to have FASTags. Yet, registering, applying and using a FASTag is quite technical for many. So, in this blog, we will discuss the simplest methods to get Paytm FASTag and make the best use of it.
How to get Paytm FASTag?
Use the Paytm App to find “FASTag” from the search icon. Then, click on the “Buy FASTag for Car/Van/Jeep” icon on the FASTag store. Upon clicking on the link, you will be redirected to Paytm FASTag for Car, Van, and Jeep Class 4 vehicles. Enter the registration number of your vehicle. Verify your delivery address & proceed with payment using one of the available payment methods. In a few days, you will receive your FASTag Kit at the address that you have registered.

What are the documents required for Paytm FASTag registration?
You need to submit the following documents (original as well as copy) along with the application for FASTag:
- Registration Certificate (RC) of the vehicle.
- Passport size photograph of the vehicle owner
- KYC documents for address proof: Driving License, PAN Card, Passport, Voter ID Card or Aadhaar Card
How to activate Paytm FASTag?
FASTag will be activated post validation of the vehicle RC scans submitted via the Paytm App. A FASTag sub-wallet will be created and loaded with the applicable threshold amount after activation. The FASTag Kit will be dispatched and delivered to your registered address at the time of purchase.
How to check the balance in Paytm FASTag?
You can look for the last SMS or email you received from Paytm regarding the FASTag toll deduction. In that mail or message, you will find the available balance. You can even go to the FASTag or Passbook section in the Paytm app and find your FASTag balance. Also, you can give a missed call at the toll-free number- +91-8884333331, which is available 24*7. As soon as you give a missed call from your registered mobile number, you will receive a notification stating your current FASTag balance on your mobile phone.
How to recharge Paytm FASTag Account?
To avoid any mobile network-related issues during traveling, you can recharge your FASTag wallet with the necessary funds before you begin your trips. You need to add money to your Paytm wallet to recharge your Paytm FASTag.
Go to your Paytm FASTag section in the app and click on Add Money. You can add money via a number of options available.
How to complete Paytm FASTag KYC online?
You can either self-activate the FASTag at home or go to any bank to link it with your Bank A/c. If you have a Paytm FASTag, it automatically gets attached to your Paytm Wallet. Hence, you don’t need to activate your FASTag separately. All you need is a KYC verified Paytm wallet, and your FASTag will automatically be activated. You can do KYC of your Paytm wallet by submitting your Id proofs like Aadhaar, PAN, etc.
How to register your complaint regarding Paytm FASTag?
You can directly call NHAI (National Highway Authority of India) on their Toll-free number- 1033 to raise your concern. If the issue is not resolved yet, you can contact Paytm customer support on their FASTag Toll-free number – 1800 120 4210. Alternatively, you can raise your issue via Paytm App too.
How to install the FASTag on the car?
Applying the FASTag to the car is also an important step. Follow the given steps carefully:
- After removing the adhesive strip, carefully position the tag in the windshield center (from inside the vehicle).
- To aid in quick reference, keep the Instructions set enclosed in the FASTag Welcome Kit handy
- Do not use cello tape or other adhesives to avoid inconvenience in Toll Payments.
- Credit some amount to your Paytm wallet to facilitate auto deduction of toll fees at all NHAI toll lanes.
- You can find all your FASTags sub-wallet
- connected to your number in the “Manage Tags” section.
How to surrender or deactivate Paytm FASTag?
Contact FASTag Customer Support at 1800 120 4210 and indicate your mobile number tied to the tag, along with the Vehicle Registration Number (VRN) or Tag ID. They will contact you soon to confirm the closure of FASTag.
