The shocking news of the death of the veteran actor and filmmaker, Rajiv Kapoor shook the entire nation. On 9th February 2021, the youngest among Kapoor’s brother was taken to the hospital after he suffered a heart attack.
The news of this tragic incident was revealed only on Tuesday morning when Randhir Kapoor accompanied him to Mumbai’s Inlaks Hospital. According to Randhir, the doctors did a commendable job and worked hard to cure him. Rajiv, the son of the late actor-director Raj Kapoor was only 58 years old when he left all of his fans alone.
The Times of India reported that Rajiv Kapoor who was popularly called “Chimpu” by his family members suffered a massive heart attack on Tuesday. Randhir Kapoor who has accompanied his brother throughout was the first one to confirm the death to the media. He even took the late actor’s body home.
Our beloved Chimpu showcased his talents to the entire world. He is better known for his famous performance in the 1985 film “Ram Teri Ganga Maili”. Some of his other works as an actor include “Zimmedaar”, “Naag Nagin”, “Hum to Chale Pardes”, Ek Jaan Hai Hum” and the list goes on. Not only this, his fans have even witnessed this talented actor directing and producing some top-notch films.
Madhuri Dixit-Nene expressed her deep condolence after hearing this news. She recalled her experience of working with the late actor-director in “Prem Granth”. Rajiv directed his own elder brother, Rishi Kapoor who even left us in April 2020. The entire Kapoor family including Kareena Kapoor, Karishma Kapoor, and Babita Kapoor also gather together to perform the last rites of their beloved “Chimpu”. Not only this, many Bollywood celebrities too paid their tribute through social media.
The Jab We Met actress, Kareena Kapoor took to her Instagram where she shared a black and white image of the Kapoor brothers. The photograph captured all the pillars of the Kapoor family, Rishi, Rajiv, Randhir along with their father, Raj Kapoor. The caption “Broken but Strong” was enough to express Kareena’s ongoing emotion. On the other hand, Karishma gave a story with an image of the young Rajiv Kapoor.
The entire Bollywood was under shock after the news went viral. Many even recollected their last memory with the late actor. Just on the previous night of the incident, Rajiv talked with his old school friend Rajiv Khanna. Khanna who knew him very closely expressed that “Rajiv used to get happy by seeing others happy”. The fans will be able to witness the late actor, Rajiv one more time in Ashutosh Gowariker’s film “Toolsidas Junior”. Gowariker revealed how the two bonded together on the sets of this film along with Sanjay Dutt.
